ALLES SAMMLUNG

Leopold Hoesch Museum Düren, 15 June to 21 September 2025

The exhibition brings together recent additions to the museum’s collection and presents them in new thematic constellations, while showing how collecting, preserving, researching, and mediating are interconnected tasks that define contemporary museum work.

My contribution focused on the spatial design of eight mediation stations.

The exhibition design takes visual cues from the historical typeface Eckmann. Its ornamental character was abstracted into graphic fragments that structure the walls and carpets of the stations, subtly echoing the museum’s layered past while creating a distinct visual rhythm throughout the space.

Each station offers visitors a deeper look into specific processes behind the scenes of museum practice. Topics include provenance research, conservation, and curatorial strategies, as well as the relationship between art and everyday life.

The design also includes participatory formats and selected label texts adapted for children to support intergenerational dialogue within the space.

Exhibition design by Maxim Weirich for beier+wellach projekte, Berlin in collaboration with arc Gestaltung, Berlin, and the team of the Leopold-Hoesch-Museum.
